Kublai Khan

Kublai Khan (23 September 1215 – 18 February 1294) was the grandson of Genghis Khan, brother of Hülegü Khan, and fifth ruler of the Mongol Empire from 1260 to 1294.

In May 1275, Marco Polo met him while visiting the court of Genghis Khan in Shangdu, where he retrieved Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad's Codex, which was taken from Niccolò and Maffeo Polo, to whom Altaïr had entrusted it.
