The Kingdom of Jerusalem was a Crusader state established in the Levant immediately after the First Crusade's siege of Jerusalem in 1099.[1] It lasted until the 1291 Siege of Acre, with a brief interruption in its existence, between its collapse after the 1187 siege of Jerusalem and its restoration after the Third Crusade in 1192. This second re-established state is also known as the Second Kingdom of Jerusalem as well as the Kingdom of Acre, owing to its new capital.[2]
