Keretizein was a game similar to street hockey in 5th century BCE Greece.

Played with a curved stick and a ball, keretizein was a common pastime.^[1]

The game is mentioned by the 2nd century writer Plutarch.
The name of the game is thought to be derived from the Greek word κέρας (kéras), meaning 'horn', in reference to the curved stick.
