John Russell, 1st Earl of Bedford (c. 1485 – 14 March 1555) was an English royal minister.

After the seizure of the garden belonging to Westminster Abbey by King Henry VIII, the land was granted to Russell, though he showed little interest in the land and left it unattended.[1]
