John Hawkwood (c. 1320 – 14 March 1394), also known as Giovanni Acuto or Jean Haccoude, was an English condottiero active in Italy during the 14th century.
For over thirty years, he served various factions, amassing a fortune. The first of the Italian condottieri, Alberico da Barbiano, served under Hawkwood at one point. In 2012, Hawkwood was included in a mnemonic set in Abstergo Industries' Project Legacy.
