John (24 December 1166 – 19 October 1216) was King of England from 6 April 1199 until his death. He was the younger brother and successor of Richard I of England.
In 1215, John faced opposition from a baronial rebellion led by the Assassin Robert Fitzwalter, who wished to put an end to the influence of John's Templar advisors over England. However, he was simultaneously supported by another Assassin, William of Cassingham, who did not agree with the barional rule.
