James II and VII (1633 – 1701) was King of England and Ireland as James II and King of Scotland as James VII, from 6 February 1685 to 1688. He was the son of Charles I.

Biography

During his reign, he ordered the building of the King's Chapel in Boston in the colony of British America.[1]

In 1688, he was overthrown in the Glorious Revolution.[2]
