Homer was an ancient Greek author who lived in ancient Greece during the 9th century BCE.
He was the author of the Iliad and the Odyssey, the central works of Greek literature, which, prior to him writing it down, had been passed on in oral tradition for many centuries.
During the early 16th century, the Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze retrieved a copy of the Iliad which Niccolò Polo had hidden two centuries earlier near the Valens Aqueduct in Constantinople. Ezio also bought a copy of the Odyssey from one of the several book shops in Constantinople.
