The "Hidden Twelve"[1] were a group of individuals that Juno instructed her followers, Instruments of the First Will, to find in 2014 to help revive the Isu race and remake society.
Behind the scenes
In an interview published in February 2022 by Stephen Totilo of news site Axios, Darby McDevitt explained the original idea behind the "Hidden Twelve" and how they were meant to play into later entries. He stated that after being mentioned in Assassin's Creed: Unity, they were meant to appear in Assassin's Creed: Origins as Isu "apostles" of Juno whose consciousnesses had been transferred into masks. The masks would then be found by members of the Order of the Ancients who would become possessed by them.[2] While this was ultimately scrapped for the final version of Origins it is of note that the game does feature 12 main assassination targets as members of the Order with their cryptonyms possibly pointing to which deities the 12 Isu were meant to be based on.
