"You're new. If it's training you want, we don't just take anyone."
―Alkon greeting Kassandra, 428 BCE[src]-[m]

Alkon was a Spartan pankration trainer in charge of Testikles, the pankration champion of Sparta.

Biography

Around 428 BCE, the misthios Kassandra was charged by one of the two kings of Sparta, Pausanias, to escort Testikles to the Olympic Games in Elis. Brasidas suggested she find Testikles by speaking to his trainer, who was training his other charges at the dromos of Sparta.[1]
