Halstead Outpost

Halstead Outpost was an Anglo-Saxon military outpost in northern Essexe, England.

History[edit | edit source]

In the 870s, the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir ventured within Halstead Outpost and found a chest, looted it, and retrieved the Galloglach Helm.[1]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

The term, "Halstead" translates from Old English to "healthy farm," or "place of refuge."

The outpost is a reference to the town and civil parish of Halstead.
