Hagia Sophia (Ottoman Turkish: Aya Sofya, Greek: Ἁγία Σοφία, "Holy Wisdom") was a former Eastern-Orthodox basilica located in the Imperial district of the city of Constantinople. Following the fall of Constantinople in 1453,it was converted into "the Aya Sofya Mosque" by Mehmed II. It was also used as a libary.
