Hades' Bow

Hades' Bow was a legendary bow inspired by and dedicated to the Greek god Hades as well as his realm, also colloquially referred to as 'Hades'. The bow certainly inspired the same terror as Hades, for metal spikes ran along the length of its limbs, and every arrow nocked caught fire as it flew, the body of the bow burning whoever touched it.

By the time of the Peloponnesian War, the bow had ended up in the hands of a mercenary active in Greece. The bow made him infamous, and it was said he was better with it than any sword, but anyone rarely wanted to test that theory. One who did was the Spartan misthios Kassandra, who claimed the bow for herself after defeating its former owner.[1]
