Calat Alhambra ("the red fortress"), commonly just Alhambra, was a fortress used by the Moors of Spain in the 1400s.

Spain

In 1492 the Spanish laid siege to the fortress in an effort to drive out the Moorish King Muhammad XII.[1][2] However, the Templars had secretly captured Muhammed to prevent him from formally surrendering, in an attempt to keep the war going and keep Queen Isabella occupied and keep her funds low. This would enable them to prevent Christoffa Corombo from traveling and discovering the New World. The Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze, under the guidance of Raphael Sanchez, infiltrated the castle and freed Muhammad. He then managed to facilitate his surrender, effectively ending the war and freeing funds for Christoffa's exploration.[1]

Training

In the Modern Times, Abstergo Industries used it as a location where they trained their Abstergo recruits through the use of the Animus. The Dama Rossa described the location as a "pearl among diamonds".[3]

Trivia

  • Alhambra is considered as one of the easiest places to play Escort, since you just can wait until your target passes by and kill them from one of the many rooftops in Alhambra. [citation needed]
