The Gobi Desert is a large desert in East Asia, covering northern and northeastern China and southern Mongolia.
In 1424, the Yongle Emperor of the Ming dynasty was assassinated in his tent by the Assassin Li Tong during the Emperor's attempt to suppress a rebellion near the desert.[1]
