Giuliano di Piero de' Medici (1453 - 26 April 1478) was the brother of Lorenzo de' Medici and the father and uncle of Giulio de' Medici by his mistress and cousin, Fioretta Gorini.

On April 26, 1478, Giuliano attended High Mass in Florence along with his mistress and his brother, Lorenzo. Before they could enter the cathedral, they were attacked by the Pazzi Conspirators. Bernardo di Bandino Baroncelli delivered the first blow, slashing Guiliano in the chest. As Francesco de' Pazzi advanced on him, Guiliano begged for mercy, but Francesco refused, and stabbed him 19 times in the chest, killing him.

His son and nephew Giulio de' Medici was born one month after these events.

Trivia

  • His son, Giulio de' Medici went on to become Pope Clement VII.
  • Giulio was, through a loophole in the law, a legitimate child and was brought up by Lorenzo.
  • After the player saves Lorenzo de' Medici from the Pazzi guards and the short cutscene is over the player can rob and pick up Giulio's dead body.
  • It should also be noted that once the cutscene is over Giuliano is no longer covered in blood nor does he have a knife stabbed into his chest any longer.
