Geoffroi de Charney was a French Templar knight that owned The Shroud until it was stolen from him by the Assassins. Historically, de Charney was commander of the Templars in Normandy until he, along with the Templar's Grand Master, Jaques de Molay, were burned at the stake in Paris in 1307.
