"All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered; the point is to discover them."
―Galileo Galilei[src]-[m]

Galileo Galilei (15 February 1564 – 8 January 1642) was an Italian astronomer, physicist, engineer, philosopher and mathematician.

In 1633, he was suspected of heresy by the Roman Inquisition. Ordered to renounce his scientific theories, Galileo refused and spent the rest of his life under house arrest.[1]
