Gaius Cassius Longinus (before 85 BC – 42 October BC) was a Roman senator, a leading instigator of the plot to kill Julius Caesar and the brother in-law of Marcus Junius Brutus.
Gaius Cassius Longinus was a member of the Assassin Order,[1] taking a leading role in the plot to kill the Templar Julius Caesar.[2] He tasked Brutus with devising the plan.[3]
Trivia
- Oddly enough, Dante Alighieri wrote in Inferno, the first part of The Divine Comedy, that Cassius, along with Marcus Junius Brutus, were condemned to the 9th Circle because of their act against Julius Caesar,[4] despite the fact that Dante was also a member of the Assassin Order.[2]
