Forts replace [[Borgia Towers]] from [[Assassin's Creed Brotherhood]], now incorporating more requirments in order to liberate the surrounding area. There are 7 forts in-game, each varying in difficulty to overcome. Each one posessing a powder reserve, which must be destroyed; and a captain, who must be killed.
