Edward Oxford (19 April 1822 – 23 April 1900) was an English painter who was behind an assassination attempt on Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom.

In 1840, while Victoria's carriage was passing through Green Park, Edward fired his pistol twice on the carriage, but missed. He was subsequently subdued by the nearby onlookers.[1]
