The Double-Barrel Pistol

The Double-Barrel Pistol was an 18th century English flintlock pistol that boasted two identical barrels. Because pistols of this era could only chamber one shot at one time and reload times were long, the design of the Double-Barrel Pistol sought to address this by allowing its wielder the ability to fire twice before reloading. During the American Revolution, it became available in general stores throughout the British colonies in revolt starting from around January 1778, with notable suppliers being in Boston, New York, and various towns in the Frontier.
