The Dome of the Rock is an Islamic mosque and major landmark located in the city of Jerusalem. It was built between 689 and 691 CE atop of the Temple Mount. As one of the most recognized and important Islamic shrines in the city, the site of the Temple Mount is coveted by three religions of Islam, Judaism and Christianity.
Trivia
- Though the dome appears golden in Assassin's Creed, it was not gilded until 1963. It was covered with black lead during the Third Crusade.
- A view point is positioned on top of the roof, as the top of the dome itself is inaccessible.
