Pedanius Dioscorides (c. 40 – c. 90), also known as simply Dioskourides, was a Greek physician and pharmacologist during the 1st century.
He was the author of De materia medica, an encyclopedia with a list of aromatic plants, perfumed oils, and unguents that could be used in medicine.[1]
