Diokles (died c. 420s BCE) was a large Greek man fighting for Athens in the battle for the Silver Islands during the Peloponnesian War. He was also the brother of Podarkes, the so-called King of the Silver Islands, and as such, an uncle of Kyra.

Biography

During the Battle of the Silver Islands Diokles came after the Spartan misthios Kassandra, who was fighting with the Spartan forces led by Herodianos.[1] Kassandra killed Diokles, and afterwards found a letter from Podarkes. The letter revealed that Diokles had been charged by Podarkes to bring Kassandra in, alive if possible, as well as confirming Diokles' own connection to the Cult of Kosmos. This was also confirmed by a letter to Podarkes from another member of the Delian League branch of the Cult, Kodros.[2]
