Denis Molinier (fl. 1790s) was an occultist and alchemist as well as a member of the French Rite of the Templar Order from Montauban. Deeply interested in Nicolas Flamel, he produced the famous "Flamel images", consisting of obscure figures that combined symbolic and chemical formulations.
During the French Revolution, Molinier owned a part of the missing mechanism that gave access to Flamel's laboratory, located under Notre-Dame. Coveting the Elixir of life the laboratory housed, the Assassin Arno Dorian infiltrated Molinier's townhouse and stole his piece of the mechanism.
Trivia
- It was possible to kill Molinier instead of just pickpocketing him in order to acquire the key opening the chest that contained the mechanism.
- The historical Molinier lived from 1711 to around 1777.
