"Goods from all over the Greek world! You wouldn't think the city was besieged by an army of Spartans."
―Kassandra[src]

The Agora of Athens was an agora located northwest of the Akropolis Sanctuary in Athens, Greece, serving as the civic heart of the polis.

During the classical period, the agora served as the center of all political, commercial, administrative, social, and legal activity.

During the Peloponnesian War the agora was visited by the Spartan misthios Kassandra.[1]
