Daniil the Tactician (died c. 420s BCE) was an Athenian mercenary who operated in Greece during the Peloponnesian War.

He was known to be calm in battle.  Some say it was because he already won the fight in his mind.  Sadly for him, that didn't always happen in the real fight.

At some point, he was hunted down by the misthios Kassandra.[1]
