Cosimo Ruggeri (died 28 March 1615) was an Italian astronomer and advisor to the Queen of France Catherine de' Medici.

The queen was a patron of the seer Nostradamus and became interested in the predictions of the future. Thus, she allowed Cosimo to use the Medici Tower in Paris to observe the sky from the iron enclosure on top.[1]

In 1564, Catherine ordered the construction of the Tuileries Palace, a decision which Cosimo opposed. The astronomer warned the Queen that the construction would lead to her ruin, which it did on 5 January 1559 after tragedy struck her family.[2]
