The Continental Army was formed after the outbreak of the American Revolutionary War by the thirteen colonies that became the United States of America by the Continental Congress on June 14, 1775. The Continental Army was created to revolt against the British Empire and successfully driven them out in 1783 after the Treaty of Paris where they would lated be disbanded and the remaining units would later be merged into the United States Army.
