The Assassins Guild in Constantinople was founded during the Renaissance[1][2] and was allied with the Ottoman Empire.[3]
History
1204 formation attempt
In the year 1204, during the Fourth Crusade, the Grand Master of the Assassin Order, Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, attempted to spread the Order's influence to Constantinople. However, the chaos that was caused by the Fourth Crusade forced Altaïr and the Assassins to flee from the city.[4]

In the year 1257, the explorers Niccolò and Maffeo Polo were invited by Altaïr's son Darim to the Assassins' headquarters of Masyaf to meet Altaïr. The reason behind this was that Altaïr wanted the explorers to return to their hometown of Constantinople and start a guild there, and in Italy.
