Cleopatra VII Thea Philopator (January 69 BC – 12 August 30 BC) was the last effective Pharaoh of the Ptolemaic dynasty of Egypt. At first, she shared power with her father and later, her brothers, whom she married, but she eventually gained sole control through plotting and murder. Cleopatra then started a liaison with Gaius Julius Caesar, who she had a child with: Caesarion.
After Caesar's death, she aligned herself with Marcus Antonius, who she also had children with. Antonius eventually committed suicide after losing the Battle of Actium.
Soon after, Cleopatra was assassinated by Amunet, who used a venomous snake (presumably an asp) to kill the ruler.
