Adrien Flood was an Irishman that, for a short while, grew up at an orphanage in Cork, where he had been left when he was an infant. At the age of eight, Adrien escaped and stowed away on a ship bound for the West Indies, which was soon attacked by Kumi Berko's pirates. Recruited into Kumi's crew, Adrien earned his place as a deckhand and later a spy, using his nimbleness and small size to get into hard-to-reach places, allowing him to procure valuable information.
As Adrien grew older, a more onoxious personality began to emerge. Sarcastic and impertinent, he started to display a sadistic streak and was put to work as a torturer and a disciplinarian.
In 2013, his genetic memories were used as an Animi Avatar by the entertainment branch of the Templar company Abstergo Industries, to influence the general public via the Animus game console, under the title of the Cutthroat.
