The Church of San Giobbe (English: Saint Job) is located in the Cannaregio district of Venice. It was commissioned by Christoforo Moro in 1450 A.D. - 1473 A.D.[1]
Database Entry
One of the earliest examples of Renaissance architecture in Venice, this church was built for the residents of a nearby hospice by the doge buried inside, Christoforo Moro.
Christoforo presided over Venice's war with the Turks, until his death in 1471. He had one son, Dante Moro, who he disowned after Dante lost his position as Captain of the Venetian City Guard in 1468.[1]
Trivia
- A view point is located at the top of the church.[1]
