The Chalice
In Altaïr's Chronicles, Adha is a woman revealed to be the Chalice, a holy artifact believed to be the descendant of Jesus Christ and the heir to Christ's holy throne. When Altaïr identifies her as the Chalice, he is absolutely surprised, as he apparently knew Adha before the events of the game. She, too, knew his name, so they had probably at least heard about each other. Altaïr also expresses sympathy towards her, suggesting that he had at least once encountered her in the past.
The Chalice was known to either be a holy artifact, or the descendant and heir of Jesus Christ. According to Al Mualim, whoever had the Chalice could unite all factions under them, granting them victory over all, and allowing them to rule the land. Seeing the danger of such an artifact, the Grand Master sent one of his Assassins, Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad to retrieve it.

Adha is originally at Jerusalem, under Templars' watch, where she is rescued by Altaïr. From her, Altaïr learns that the Templars have paid off Harash, the second-in-command of the Assassins. Altaïr plans to attack Alep, the Assassin fortress, kill Harash and run away with Adha; but after killing Harash, Adha is kidnapped by Basilisk and taken to the port in Tyre. Altaïr fights through the Templar knights and kills Basilisk on his ship. However, Adha is on a different ship, which escapes before Altaïr can catch it. He swims to shore and, seeing the Templar ship far off in the distance, yells "I will find you, Adha!".
Though his search led him to the Temple of the Sand, there, Altaïr only discovered an empty golden chest. This prompted him to assume that it had already fallen into Templar hands, thus he travelled to Jerusalem.

Rescue and Capture
Although she does not appear in Assassin's Creed, during Altaïr's preparations to assassinate Abu'l Nuqoud in Damascus, an Assassin informant asks Altaïr, "Any news of Adha since she left?" When Altaïr remains silent (as always with informants), he continues, "No? How sad. I'm sure you'll find her someday."
Discovering that the Chalice was being kept under Templar watch in the Holy City, Altaïr infiltrated their fortress and soon found Adha. Though he was absolutely surprised upon identifying her as the Chalice, he rescued her nonetheless.

It is also important to note that one of the Templars computers in Abstergo mentions the chalice, and questions whether it is a real Piece of Eden. They have called off their search for it until more evidence of its existence can be found.
Shortly afterwards, Adha informed him that the Templars had paid off Harash, the second-in-command of the Assassins, to betray their Order; thus Altaïr decided to seek him out at the Assassin fortress of Alep. Though he planned to kill the traitor and run away with Adha, upon completing his task, Adha was kidnapped by Basilisk, Grand Master of the Templar Order.

Pursuing them to a port in Tyre, Altaïr fought his way onto Basilisk's ship at the head of the fleet, killing several Templar knights and Basilisk himself. He returned to shore and, seeing the Templar ship far off in the distance, yelled "I will find you, Adha!"
Altaïr's codex reveals that he later caught up to Adha, though had only found her corpse. In the text, Altaïr states that he exacted vengeance on those that killed her. It is hinted that he loved her, and her death deeply hurt him. The circumstances of Adha's death are not made clear.

Later Life
According to Al Mualim in Altaïr's Chronicles, whoever has the Chalice can unite all the factions under whoever has it, giving them victory over all, and allowing them to rule the land. If she is indeed a Piece of Eden, it may be possible that she is one of Those Who Came Before or may had been 'created' by them.
In 1191, during Altaïr's preparations to assassinate Abu'l Nuqoud in Damascus, an Assassin informant asked him of Adha, "Any news of Adha since she left?" When Altaïr remained silent (as always with informants), he continued with "No? How sad. I'm sure you'll find her someday."

Another possibility is that she is not a Piece of Eden, but just a keeper of one; as in the Temple of the Sand, Altaïr discovers an empty golden chest where an artifact was supposed to be hidden. Thus, both Al Mualim and the Templars likely misunderstood the Chalice's true purpose, mistaking her for a Piece of Eden. It may explain why she was later killed.
Death
Though the circumstances of Adha's death are unclear, Altaïr wrote in his Codex that he later caught up to Adha, but only found her corpse. Adha was a young woman also known to be "the Chalice," a sacred artifact similar to the Pieces of Eden.[1]

Biography

The Chalice

The Chalice was known to either be a holy artifact, or the descendant and heir of Jesus Christ. According to Al Mualim, whoever had the Chalice could unite all factions under them, granting them victory over all, and allowing them to rule the land. Seeing the danger of such an artifact, the Grand Master sent one of his Assassins, Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad to retrieve it.[1]

Though his search led him to the Temple of the Sand, there, Altaïr only discovered an empty golden chest. This prompted him to assume that it had already fallen into Templar hands, thus he travelled to Jerusalem.[1]

Rescue and Capture

Discovering that the Chalice was being kept under Templar watch in the Holy City, Altaïr infiltrated their fortress and soon found Adha. Though he was absolutely surprised upon identifying her as the Chalice, he rescued her nonetheless.[1]

Shortly afterwards, Adha informed him that the Templars had paid off Harash, the second-in-command of the Assassins, to betray their Order; thus Altaïr decided to seek him out at the Assassin fortress of Alep. Though he planned to kill the traitor and run away with Adha, upon completing his task, Adha was kidnapped by Basilisk, Grand Master of the Templar Order.[1]

Pursuing them to a port in Tyre, Altaïr fought his way onto Basilisk's ship at the head of the fleet, killing several Templar knights and Basilisk himself. However, he discovered that Adha was being held on a different ship, which escaped before Altaïr could catch up to it. He returned to shore and, seeing the Templar ship far off in the distance, yelled "I will find you, Adha!"[1]

Later Life

In 1191, during Altaïr's preparations to assassinate Abu'l Nuqoud in Damascus, an Assassin informant asked him of Adha, "Any news of Adha since she left?" When Altaïr remained silent (as always with informants), he continued with "No? How sad. I'm sure you'll find her someday."[2]

Death

Though the circumstances of Adha's death are unclear, Altaïr wrote in his Codex that he later caught up to Adha, but only found her corpse. He went on to state that he had exacted vengeance on those that had killed her. It is hinted that he loved her, and that her death deeply hurt him.[3]

Trivia

 • Though not explicitly mentioned, the fact that Altaïr and Adha know each other by name upon first meeting in Assassin's Creed: Altaïr's Chronicles suggests that they have met at least once before.[1]
 • An e-mail in the computer at the Abstergo Industries conference room mentions the Chalice, and questions whether or not it is a real Piece of Eden. It also notes that the search for it would be called off until more evidence of its existence can be found.[2]
