The Castillo de los Tres Reyes Magos del Morro, or simply Castillo Morro, is a Spanish military fort guarding the entrance to Havana bay, in western Cuba.
An imposingly solid structure, the Castillo Moro was built in 1589 to protect the city against pirates and foreign invaders. Its mere presence was enough to deter raids on the city until the British invasion of 1762, during the War of Jenkins' Ear.[1]
