Cabo de Cruz was a Spanish fort located on the southern shore of Cuba in the Caribbean. At some point between 1717 and 1718, the fort was captured by the pirate Edward Kenway and his crew.
After the fort's capture, a harbormaster's station was built by the docks, and two naval contracts were offered to Kenway by a representative of the Dutch trader Milo van der Graaff.
