The Burned Temple of Charites was a temple dedicated to the Charites in the polis Orchomenos in Boeotia, Greece.
One of the oldest temple in the city-state,[1] the temple was burned down during Peloponnesian War by a man who was seeking an ancient stele piece hidden in the temple. In pursuit of the stele piece, the Spartan misthios Kassandra visited the temple, where she was greeted by a woman investigating the scene. The woman directed Kassandra to the beggars' quarter of the city, suspecting the arsonist to have fled there.[2]
