Burk was a 9th century Norse man from Jorvik, Eurvicscire.

In the 870s, Burk blinded his Anglo-Saxon worker Chad and accused him of theft. Afterwards, Chad ran as Burk went looking for him. He then found Chad, who was helped atop a bridge by the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan. Despite Chad's pleas against working for him, Burk ordered his men to take Chad and thanked Eivor for finding his employee. However, Eivor killed Burk's men when they attempted to take Chad, prompting Burk to flee.[1]
