François Leclerc du Tremblay (1577 – 1638), also known as Père Joseph, was a French Capuchin friar, as well as a confidant and agent of Cardinal Richelieu.[1] In 1622, François founded the Convent of the Daughters of Calvary in Paris, which served as the enclosed community for the Congregation of Our Lady of Calvary.[2]
