Ajay Rana is the founder of the Indian technology company MysoreTech. In 2013, he landed a multi-million dollar contract with Abstergo Entertainment for the launch of a new virtual entertainment product on the Asian market, released in the west as the Animus.[1]
Biography
On 25 September 2013, Ajay appeared in an interview with a newspaper at the International Film Festival of India located in Goa, revealing information about his company's new product. When queried about whether or not director Daaruk Ray would be making any movies for it, Ajay remained cagey on details but let it be known that Ray was informed and interested.[2]
Later, as MysoreTech prepared for the launch for the Brahman V.R., Ajay assigned one of his employees, Jot Soora, to design the device's user interface. However, Jot's work on the Brahman V.R. led him to discover its true purpose of uploading the user's genetic memory to the Abstergo Cloud, which worried him greatly. When Jot voiced these concerns to Ajay during a game of squash, he was advised to stay out of affairs that did not concern him.[1]
Jot's discovery soon resulted in his kidnapping by Abstergo, alongside his fiancée, Monima Das. While Jot was later rescued by the Assassins, Monima died during the ordeal.[1] In 2014, Ajay and Melanie Lemay, the CCO of Abstergo Entertainment, came to an arrangement to have a digital version of Monima created using Animus technology in order to complete production of her last film, Dvija A.I. Melanie also expressed interest in using MysoreTech to remaster other traditional forms of entertainment, such as concerts or sporting events.[3]

Etymology
Ajay is an Indian masculine given name originating from the Sanskrit ajaya (अजय), meaning "unconquered", "unsurpassed", or "invincible".[4] Rana is a common Indian given name and surname derived from the Sanskrit word raja/rana (राजा), meaning "king".[5]
