The Battleground of Megaris was the site of the Battle of Megara in the Occupied Forest of Tripodiskos in Megaris, Greece early in the Peloponnesian War. Near the Battlefield Cave and the Persian Cliff, a tall cliff rose by the battlefield.
In 431 BCE, the first year of the conflict, the Spartans under Nikolaos and his adopted son Stentor invaded the region to conquer Megara, then a member of the Delian League. With help from the misthios Kassandra, Nikolaos' long lost stepdaughter, the Spartans won a decisive victory on this battlefield and subsequently seized all of Megaris.[1]
