The closing scenes in Juno's vault reveal two symbols: the Apples projection of the Masonic Eye and and the Phrygian Cap. The Masonic Eye is an historically recurring symbol of the all-seeing-eye of God. The Phrygian Cap is also known as a liberty cap since it was adopted to symbolize freedom and the pursuit of liberty.
When Shaun was cut of by time freezing once Desmond picked up the Apple, he was about to say that the two come together in the "Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen", a defining document of the French Revolution.
Maybe the third installment will be in 18th century France? I know it's crucial that Desmond stay as Desmond to find Eve, but maybe (since he was put back into an Animus by unknowns) he relives the French Revolution to uncover secrets of Eve's history or how to use the Apple to go back to Eve, or to find the location of another Apple (since each is unique I think?) to put with Desmond's Apple to travel back to Eve.
(I couldn't find a way to start a new thread =/ so I commented on yours since it seemed relevant.)
