As we have seen from the demo & the first gameplay trailer, animals (carnivores) come generally when there is a corpse around. This was first seen in the gameplay trailer when Connor was looking at the corpse of a redcoat, a bear came. The second instance was in the frontier demo when he was hunting a deer, a pack of wolves came to claim the kill.
