Most likely this is just for 2014 because a lot of people still have current gen consoles. Simultaneously, Ubisoft wants to make more use of the next gen consoles' potential, so, to not cut out either market, they decided to make two games. The decision makes sense, but I don't really like it. Anyways, I just want to know more about Comet right now, so I can formulate a better opinion than "I hope it's more exotic than Unity". | ||

There's no confirmation Ubisoft intends to do this for future Assassin's Creed games, though I wouldn't put it past them.
