Auguste Oberlin was a blacksmith from Rome and propoganda agent for the House of Borgia during the learly 16th Century. He was assassinated by Ezio Auditore da Firenze after he confronted the Assassin for tearing down his propoganda posters.

Centuries later, his genetic memories were downloaded by Abstergo Industries and used in the Animus training project.
