...Actually, according to the Supreme Court of the United States, it is meant to be taken literally. Also, gun violence doesn't necessarily correlate with overall violent crime, and Britain has issues of its own. I don't want to get into a gun debate here since this really isn't the place for it, but do know it's a thorny issue in the US for a reason.
Not that that changes my position that video games don't cause this violence. That remains the same.
