Ubisoft has released news that there will be five DLCs available for Assassin's Creed III within six months of the release of the game. All five can be received at a discount of 25% if the Season Pass is purchased for $29.99 or 2,400 Microsoft Points. It is now available on the PlayStation Store, the Xbox 360 version will be available for purchase beginning on October 31. Separately, all DLCs are $40. The pass grants users one week early access to the DLCs. It will be available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. It seems that the pass it will not be available for the Wii U. Sony's PlayStation Network will have an Gold Edition featuring the game and the season pass. "The Tyranny of King George" will span 3 DLCs and tell an alternate story where George Washington is seen as an antagonist. Ubisoft describes the DLC, "As the revolution comes to a close, a new and most unexpected enemy emerges. Driven by the desire to secure the fate of the revolution, George Washington, succumbs to the temptation of infinite power. The new King is born and his reign leaves no one untouched. To return freedom to the land our new hero must dethrone a tyrant he once called friend". Connor will have a long journey as the arc takes it three DLCs. This DLC will let players explore an alternate view at the history that we all know.

The other two downloadable content packs are rumored to include multiplayer maps and characters.
