Assassin Tombs

The Assassin's Tombs are located across the Northern section of Italy, and contain the remains of six of the greatest of the Assassin's Order. The tombs were created as a dedication to their lives, with the bodies moved from their original graves to these Tombs. Each crypt contains an Assassin's Seal, which, when accumulated, unlocks a gate in the Sanctuary of the Assassins underneath Villa Auditore, hidden behind which is the Armor of Altair, the strongest armor in the game.

The Seals

The Assassin Tombs are hidden areas which can be found throughout Assassin's Creed II, each of which contains a seal. With each seal collected, your quest of acquiring the Armor of Altaïr; which is located in the basement of Villa Auditore, will become closer. The basement is located beneath Mario's office; the room with the Codex pages on the wall. Mario will lead you there, allowing you to start the quest on gaining Altaïr's Armor, which is somewhat required to progress the game. According to Lucy, in order to obtain perfect synchronization with Ezio, the armor must be obtained; however, it is not necessary to complete the game. Every seal has a different sign on it which represents the 6 legendary Assassins

This one-of-a-kind armor is the highest quality obtainable. Altaïr created the armor to be unbreakable and it cannot be mixed with other armors. Dyes are not visable upon the armor, save the inside of the hood.
