The following page is an apprentice assignment page, which acts as a connection between the Apprentice, The Forgotten Fragment , and their Mentor, Nostalgia AC . It exists as an external talk page, aimed at dealing with all aspects of the apprenticeship. Only the above mentioned users and the staff have permission to converse here. Any outside interference will result in an immediate ban from the wiki.

Introductory comments

Hey Frag, glad to be working with you. Congrats on passing the interview, now let's get to work. First off, if you ever have any questions about an assignment or anything, please ask me as I'm happy to answer them so don't feel uncomfortable asking. Unfortunately, I am away this weekend with my family and will not have much access to the wiki or the IRC, so there's no assignment for now, but I'll have one for you when I return on Sunday evening. In the meantime, keep editing around the wiki and everything. Assignment 1: Paul Revere revamp

Details For your first assignment, I would like you to revamp Paul Revere. From what I saw on a quick read-through, the article needs: More formal wording Expansion (Check his database entry in AC3 and make sure everything is there. Also, check Wikipedia for additional info.) Spacing in the history section More images in the gallery and the article itself Opening quotes at the beginning of the whole article or at the beginning of any biographical sub-sections, if fitting. Please use that list as a guide, not as a prompt; if there are things not mentioned that need fixing, then fix them. If you are having trouble, leave me a message here detailing your issue, or send me a message on the IRC. Otherwise, post here with a summary of the work you've done once you're finished. I had a little bit of trouble finding quotes for Revere, due to his brief appearance in AC...so I took most from the Midnight Ride. I added a legacy section, a trivia, and expanded the gallery. I believe I have completed the revamp, and I have now nothing more to add to the article without being repetitive. (I think I did this wrong lol) --User:The Forgotten Fragment Comments Nah, your summary was fine. Here are my lessons after reading the article: Don't repeat links; only add them the first time they are mentioned in the article. Also, make sure your links are up-to-date and not redirects. Use a constant name throughout the article. Sometimes you used "Paul" and other times you used "Revere." Keep it simple and use one throughout :P. Try to shorten quotes if possible and as long as it doesn't damage the focus of the quote. Remove the apprentice and revamp templates once you're done an assignment like this. Well, those are just my main observations. You can check my edit to see all the changes I made and feel free to ask me if you're unsure why I did any of them. Overall though, the article looks good. All the expansion you did is awesome and the rewording you did is a lot better than before. Your work has earned you a promotion, and keep my comments in mind for the future. Assignment 2: Addition and subtraction

Now that you've learned the basics of a revamp, we're going to turn to the topic of extent of information, as I like to call it. This assignment has 2 parts, both of which are detailed below, and the basic idea is for you to develop an understanding of how much info a page needs, how much info is too much, and how much info is too little.

Keep my previous comments in mind and make sure to proofread to get rid of grammar, spelling, and punctuation mistakes. Frag, I don't mean to come off as a dick but it's been 2 weeks since I gave the assignment and you have not posted any progress. I've seen you editing actively around the wiki, which is great, but you should know that your assignments are a priority above other editing work. I'm fine with you editing on Microsoft Word or another offline source, and I understand if you have real-life commitments that prevent you from working on it, but you have to tell me so that I know. --NOSTALGIA ^TALK 19:03, April 13, 2013 (UTC)

Hopefully I can post by tomorrow, but as of right now I am writing this from a hotel room on an Ipad (I am at my grandad's funeral). I apologize for my prior comment that comes off as harsh and dickish; I only meant to ask you for an update while letting you know that it'd be helpful if you told me about where you planned to edit or if you have anything that kept you busy. Just let me know in the future so confusion like this doesn't arise :) Sorry for your loss as well. I know I felt like shit when my mom passed so I understand if you need to take some time off. Part I: Edward Braddock

Details

For the first part, I want you to go to Edward Braddock. You'll notice the article goes into extreme detail in the biography subsections, which is not needed. Therefore, I want you to cut the sections down so they are more concise and to the point. This will entail removing some information and rewording other bits to be concise. Add some spacing and cut the information down so it doesn't go into unnecessary detail. Check out Israel Putnam if you're unsure about how in-depth the info needs to be.

For the second part, check out Boston Tea Party, which is almost completely bare. I want you to expand the article so it fully details the Tea Party in an organized manner. Make sure to include all appropriate sections as other event articles do.
